I started drawing this in September of 2023. I finished it some time in 2024 and then put it away. I had spent too much time looking at it & couldn’t stand it anymore. This illustration heavily references the family computer/where I spent most of my time as a teenager in the early/mid 2000’s. I used the computer and the internet to learn and make everything, as much as I could. I made stop motion animations with primitive software and used HTML to build websites. I learned how to record & edit audio. I found all of my favourite bands on the internet. It was my only access to the outside world. The internet was very different before the rise of social media/YouTube. Though I’m grateful for the advances we’ve made over time, I do miss this particular time period of the internet.
